Patriot's Day March to Old North Bridge

When you live in a zip code of 01776, Revoluntionary War history is abundant. Annually on April 19th, the Sudbury Companies of Militia and Minute march from Sudbury Center to the Old North Bridge in Concord, Massachusetts to reenact the mission of our forefathers who did the same on April 19, 1775, at the start of the American Revolution. The march starts before the sun comes up following the approximate route of that was taken on that day and ends with a ceremony at Wayside Inn in Sudbury with the changing of the flag.

History lesson over. I must say, I am not a morning person but decided this year to get up and out to document their march along the way. The weather was nice and my kids were off from school for April break so there was no morning rush out of the house. It gave me a chance to take my camera out to document this moment and take some portraits that would not be typical of my family and newborn sessions. Honestly, I don't get a lot photography session requests from militia so I'll put this down for one for the memory books. On to more typical family photo sessions this week in the flower fields at Ferjulian's Farm in Hudson, MA. I can't wait to share some of those photos when they are ready. Have a great week! xo- Lisa
