Those first days at home...


Welcoming a newborn into your life is a monumental shift for a woman. Becoming a mother for the first time can be completely overwhelming- in the best and scariest ways possible. As you settle into your new responsibilities and your heart expands to envelope this new little person, the emotions run high. For a dad, supporting his wife through recovery and the awe of her transition to mom is an emotional time. New dads are looking at the world through a whole new lens as well as they slip into their new role. And together, as a couple, settling into your titles and responsibilities as parents brings a shift in your relationship with these new roles in an amazing way. That said, it's not all glamour and joy but every moment is a special memory you will want to hold onto. Yes, even those endless middle of the night feedings can be looked back on with love many years in the future.


I had the pleasure of meeting this new family at their home this Spring and capturing life with their new baby boy. Mom and dad are so at ease with their baby and it was such a joy to see their love for their son. Newborn lifestyle shoots are near and dear to my heart as I can capture a family at a momentous but also vulnerable time of life. I love to capture the family in their space so they can look back on their nursery and other areas of their home that they spend so much time in during those first weeks with baby. For me, a newborn photo shoot is not just about the baby but the whole family and their new life together.


For family's that wish to invest in professional photography to capture their child's first year, I offer First Year Milestone Packages. First Year Milestone packages can be customized to your family's unique needs and wants but the standard package will include a Newborn session, Sitter (approx 6 months) session and a Walker (approx 1 year) session. At the conclusion of all of your First Year sessions, we will work together to create an heirloom quality album with your favorite images from you sessions.
