Finally, we have made it to spring...

As New Englanders, we are used to long, harsh winters but this past winter felt a little different. It was so wet and so...BROWN. Snow was scarce but gray days with a bleak landscape were plentiful. As a photographer, it was a difficult winter to get motivated. I typically use the 'off season' from portrait photography to enjoy taking landscape photos and working on new techniques. However, this year it was hard to find inspiration. With that said, this week with the return to warm, sunny days, I have been spending a lot of time outside photographing the awakening of the trees and flowers.

It is also the time to start booking Spring portrait sessions. The Spring is a wonderful time for family portraits. The landscape provides a variety of lush backdrops from flowering trees and bushes to lush green grass. The days are warm but not hot. Faces aren't red and sweaty from the heat and kids aren't uncomfortable. Lastly, Mother's Day and Father's Day are quickly approaching and family photos is the perfect gift- for parents & guardians, grandparents or other special adults in children's lives.

I spent the day yesterday getting inspired by the beautiful courtyard and flowing Nastutriums at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. After that, my husband and I headed over to Beacon Hill, the Boston Public Garden and a stroll down Comm Ave to check in on the Magnolia trees. Boston portrait sessions are ready to go and I have so many favorite areas to set up for your sessions.

Closer to home, the Metrowest area is starting to bloom. For this spring, I will be offering sessions in the tulip field of Ferjulian's Farm in Hudson, MA. If you have not been, it is an explosion of color on the hillside of the cutting garden with a quaint farmhouse. Additional locations will be in the Acton Arboreteum, the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, an apple blossom field in Sudbury & the Old North Bridge in Concord. For families that want to stay closer to home, I always offer sessions at your house where your family may feel more comfortable and at ease.

Here's to a beautiful spring season filled with smiling faces and love! I'm ready to capture it all. I hope to see you soon. Xo.
