After the leaves fall...
Many families flock to have their portraits taken in the autumn when the leaves are on the trees and the colors are vibrant. I love autumn in New England and the brilliance of the foliage. The color of the leaves and backdrop often take center stage with the families dressing in more neutral tones to not clash with the bright reds, yellows and oranges.
All that said, there is real beauty to the late fall for portraits. The colors of the backdrops are more muted and you can bring more personality and color to your outfits. Also, having a more muted palette for your backdrop and yourself can be stunningly beautiful in it's simplicity. I love this time of year with the leaves on the ground and the grasses tall and beige/brown. It is also a great time to focus on the evergreen trees that stand out when they aren't competing with their deciduous tree counterparts.
All that to say, it is still a fabulous time of year to throw on some cozy sweaters and even a set of adorable hats and gloves and get your family memories captures. The families below did and the results are amazing.
