When some of your family members have paws...
Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely family and their two dogs in Sudbury, MA. When the mom reached out for this session, she asked if I was OK with dogs. I am a dog mom myself with two beautiful, energetic and quirky rescue pups. They are an integral part of our family and I love when families feel the same about their pups and want to include them in their portrait session. I also volunteered for several years at a animal rescue group. So, yes, I am comfortable with your pets (just not snakes...never snakes. Sorry, reptile people)! Please include them in your session, if that is important to you. That said, having a pup or two in your session will definitely add a level of complexity. Will they wander off? Yes! Will they decide they are done and fall asleep? Yes! Will they both look at the same time that your family is posed and looking? Maybe! Bring squeaky toys or favorite items for them. Be flexible and don't let the pups stress you out and we will have a great sessions. Dogs are going to do what they are going to do.
We will also take some time for some portraits and fun without the pups. That ensures you get images with everyone looking in the same direction and shots with just the humans are great too! Most importantly, play with your pups during your session. Your natural interactions with them bring out your and your pups relaxed smiles too!
I hope to see your and your pets soon!
