A family session in a historic spot...
The Wayside Inn Grist Mill is a popular spot in for family photos in Sudbury, MA and for good reason. Beyond the actual grist mill structure with it's stacked stone facade and red wheel, the grounds around the mill are stunning. The Grist Mill was built in 1929 by Henry Ford and is the inspiration for the Pepperidge Farm logo. The Grist Mill is still a working mill today and you can purchase flour and corn meal ground in the mill at the Wayside Inn. Enough with the history lesson and back to the photos...
This lovely family had originally booked one of my motherhood mini sessions back in May. Just as they arrived and we were about to start our shoot, the skies opened up and it monsooned upon us. We raced back to the our cars and realized there was no saving that shoot as we were drenched. We rescheduled our session several times and each time mother nature foiled us AGAIN. But we kept trying and ,finally, we were gifted with a lovely evening for photos- not too hot, not too sunny just a lovely evening to capture this beautiful family. I am so grateful for their patience as we worked to find the right night for our shoot. I think the results were well worth it.
Occasionally, despite our best efforts, mother nature will ruin our plans. It's important to plan for alternative days or locations if the weather chooses not to cooperate. There are always alternatives to ensure you get the photos you are hoping for.
Summer is passing quickly! Lets schedule a time to get your family together for some lovely memories.
